HEALTHCARE VMware Case Study 1
A multi-hospital health system had aging hardware coming due for refresh, rising VMware costs, and a ransomware attack at a nearby hospital putting recovery at the top of the board’s agenda. Vendor-certified clinical applications stayed on VMware; everything else — patient portals, scheduling, integration services — moved to dedicated KVM in waves, timed around low-traffic clinical windows. Immutable, isolated copies went into UPC Cyber Vault before the first workload moved, and documented recovery drills replaced the untested assumptions that had passed as a DR plan.
