We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team and play a critical role in supporting and optimizing our virtualized infrastructure.
About the Role
As a VMware SME, you will leverage your deep expertise in VMware technologies to ensure the performance, scalability, and security of our virtualized environment. You will be a key technical resource, providing expertise in the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and optimization of VMware solutions.
Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, vMotion, and vDS.
Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
Configure and optimize virtual machines (VMs) for performance and resource efficiency.
Conduct performance monitoring and troubleshooting of virtualized infrastructure.
Automate routine tasks using tools like VMware vRealize Automation or scripting languages.
Stay current with the latest VMware technologies and best practices.
Provide technical guidance and support to engineers on VMware-related issues.
Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure scaling initiatives.
Document and maintain comprehensive knowledge base articles for VMware solutions.
Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience administering and troubleshooting VMware vSphere environments (vSphere 6.x or higher).
Technical Expertise:
Proven expertise in ESXi, vCenter Server, vMotion, vDS, and related functionalities.
Strong understanding of storage and networking technologies in virtualized environments (SAN/NAS, vSAN, vDS).
Hands-on experience with disaster recovery solutions, preferably VMware SRM.
Knowledge of VM optimization techniques and performance troubleshooting.
Skills:
Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python is a plus.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
